Founded in early 2016 and officially licensed by the Ministry of Justice of Afghanistan, NTYCO is a non-profit and non-governmental organization driven by a passionate group of youth leaders from diverse backgrounds and beliefs across Afghanistan. Our organization is dedicated to empowering and mobilising Afghanistan's youth and women to become active agents of positive change in their communities and beyond.

At NTYCO, we believe in the power of youth to drive social, political, and civic transformation. With branches in 17 provinces and a membership of over 2,000 individuals, we are one of the most reputed civil society organizations advocating for human rights and social justice in Afghanistan.

Through our diverse programs, initiatives, and advocacy efforts, we work tirelessly to create a more inclusive and equitable Afghanistan where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and fulfil their potential.

Since its establishment, NTYCO has organized and managed hundreds of events, campaigns, and initiatives across Afghanistan and beyond. From advocating for gender equality and women’s rights to defending human rights, promoting peace and reconciliation, and supporting vulnerable populations, our team is committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of Afghan citizens.

Founding Date and Official License

NTYCO was founded on 15 March 2016 and received its official license from the Ministry of Justice of Afghanistan, solidifying its status as a legitimate non-profit and non-governmental organisation committed to youth and women empowerment and social justice.

Youth-Led and Youth-Focused

NTYCO is managed and led by a group of dynamic youth leaders across Afghanistan from diverse backgrounds and beliefs. The organization's initiatives and programs are specifically designed to address the needs and aspirations of Afghanistan's youth and women, and beyond.

Nationwide Presence

NTYCO has established its presence across Afghanistan with branches in 17 provinces, including Kabul, Herat, Balkh, Nangarhar, Kandahar, and more. This extensive network allows NTYCO to reach and engage with youth from various regions and communities nationwide.

Advocacy and Activism

NTYCO is actively involved in advocacy and activism on a wide range of issues, including human rights, gender equality, peace-building, and social justice. Through protests, rallies, conferences, and campaigns, NTYCO advocates for positive change and raises awareness about pressing social issues facing Afghan society.

Innovative Initiatives

NTYCO has spearheaded innovative initiatives such as the Afghanistan Youth Government (AYG), a simulated youth government program that provides a platform for youth engagement in democratic processes and governance. Additionally, NTYCO has organised events, conferences, and workshops both within Afghanistan and internationally to promote dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange among youth.

In its inaugural year, NTYCO established its headquarters in Kabul, laying the foundation for its mission to strengthen the social-political participation of Afghanistan’s youth. With a commitment to inclusivity and diversity, NTYCO quickly expanded its reach, opening branches in 17 provinces nationwide.

Driven by the organization’s core values of human rights, equality, and peace, NTYCO embarked on several initiatives and campaigns to address pressing social issues facing Afghan society. From advocating for gender equality and women’s rights to defending human rights, promoting peace and reconciliation, and supporting vulnerable populations, NTYCO emerged as a leading voice for youth empowerment and social justice in Afghanistan.

One of NTYCO’s landmark initiatives was establishing the Afghanistan Youth Government (AYG) – a simulated government based on the principles of democracy and governance. This innovative program provided a platform for young activists from across Afghanistan to engage in civic activities, promote democratic values, and advocate for the rights and aspirations of Afghan youth.
