Participation of the leadership and members of the NTYCO at the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Qatar
The summit, attended by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, and several world leaders, focused on the three core pillars of social development: poverty eradication, decent work for all, and social inclusion.
NTYCO representatives actively participated in various sessions and dialogues, ensuring that Afghanistan’s seat was not left empty at one of the world’s most important events on social development. They raised the challenges of poverty, unemployment among youth, and the exclusion of women and girls from education and work, calling for renewed global attention to the Afghan people’s plight.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Afghan delegates, together with youth from Pakistan, organized a special dialogue titled “The Peaceful Future Dialogue: Afghanistan-Pakistan Youth Initiative.” This initiative is part of the broader vision “Alternative for Afghanistan,” designed and led by Mr. Ahmad Hewad Rahyab, founder and CEO of NTYCO.
The dialogue emphasized the need for peaceful relations and regional cooperation between Afghanistan, Pakistan, and neighboring countries. Participants highlighted that the two nations must choose diplomacy and friendship over prolonged conflict and violence.
Similar dialogues are planned with youth from Afghanistan’s six neighboring countries to prepare the next generation of regional leaders for a peaceful future. The “Alternative for Afghanistan” plan envisions a modern, dignified, and peaceful Afghanistan by 2040, where every citizen can live with respect and opportunity.
Through their active participation, NTYCO representatives reaffirmed that Afghan youth remain the global voices of justice, peace, and development, and no power can silence them from international discourse.
