Launch of the European Youth Cabinet (EYC) 2027: Pre-Registration Now Open!
The New Thinker Youth Civil Organisation (NTYCO) Announces a Revolutionary Three-Day Immersive Governance and Crisis Simulation for Young European Leaders.
NTYCO officially announces the opening of pre-registration for the European Youth Cabinet (EYC) 2027. Hosted in Berlin, Germany, this groundbreaking program will bring together 200 young, driven Europeans (aged 18 to 40) for a fully participatory, gamified governance simulation.
Beyond a Traditional Conference
Young Europeans are increasingly seeking practical engagement over traditional, lecture-style events. The EYC abandons standard panels in favour of a real, immersive experience. Over three days, participants will literally build and operate a simulated government from the ground up.
The program features a dynamic structure where all 200 participants hold active roles across eight functional tiers, including a President, Vice-Presidents, 17 Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Regional Governors, Mayors, and an Independent Press Corps. The 17 ministries are directly mapped to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ranging from the Ministry of Climate Action to the Ministry of Digital Ethics and AI Governance.
Democracy begins on Day 1 with live, in-hall elections using a secure digital QR-code voting platform. The experience culminates on Day 2 with a high-stakes “Black Swan” crisis simulation, forcing the newly elected cabinet to negotiate budgets, form coalitions, and manage complex emergencies under extreme time pressure.
Forged in Experience: From Kabul to Berlin
The EYC is not born from theory; it is forged from over a decade of lived experience in one of the world’s most challenging environments. Founded in 2016, NTYCO has spent more than ten years empowering youth and women through hands-on civic engagement and practical governance training.
In 2017, NTYCO launched the pioneering “Youth Government” initiative in Kabul. In that program, 136 young Afghans formed a fully simulated, democratically elected government that operated alongside real state institutions, navigating the complexities of governance amidst war and political instability. The EYC is the direct evolution of this proven, resilience-tested methodology, now brought to Europe to bridge the gap between democratic ideals and practical, crisis-ready leadership.
Young Europeans do not need more theory from textbooks; they need practice. The EYC offers a rare opportunity to experience democracy not as a distant institution, but as a living, breathing system. Participants will not just learn about leadership; they will learn it from a team that has lived it, lost it, and rebuilt it.
Inclusive Participation and Pre-Registration
To ensure true diversity and inclusion, the EYC operates on a co-investment model offering three distinct registration packages:
Fully Funded (Solidarity Tickets): For underprivileged or refugee youth.
Partially Funded: Subsidised rates for students and early-career activists.
Self-Funded: The standard ticket covering accommodation, meals, and materials.
The official pre-registration is now open. Interested young leaders are invited to join the priority waitlist via the short online form on the EYC website. This initial step helps NTYCO gauge interest and allows the organisation to share final details and personal registration links as soon as the official selection begins.
