South America comprising twelve sovereign nations (Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela), two dependent territories (the Falkland Islands and South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands), and the internal territory of French Guiana, represents an important geographic and strategic region for advancing NTYCO’s mission of youth empowerment, human rights advocacy, and community engagement.

Ms. Nazari brings with her a strong record of activism, dedication, and leadership within the Afghan and international human rights community. In her new role, she will be responsible for:

• Representing NTYCO across South America in all official engagements;

• Organizing regional programs, events, and initiatives in support of the Afghan diaspora community;

• Building partnerships with local and international organizations, institutions, and civil society networks;

• Amplifying advocacy efforts for Afghanistan, especially concerning the rights and protection of women, girls, youth, and at-risk activists;

• Strengthening NTYCO’s presence in South America and contributing to the organization’s global mission.
