SDG 5: Gender Equality
Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5) aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. It focuses on eliminating discrimination, violence, and harmful practices while ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, economic resources, and decision-making roles. Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right but also a foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world.
Gender Equality is the Core Focus of NTYCO
As a human rights defender and civil society organisation, NTYCO has placed girls’ empowerment and women’s rights at the core of its mission since its establishment. Despite severe restrictions in Afghanistan under Taliban rule, NTYCO continues to create opportunities for Afghan women and girls, ensuring their voices are not silenced.
In NTYCO we believe that without empowering girls and women, Afghanistan cannot achieve peace, justice, or sustainable development. NTYCO’s programs are designed not only to protect Afghan women’s rights but also to equip them with the tools to become leaders, change-makers, and equal partners in shaping the future.
