SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16) aims to promote peaceful and inclusive societies, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels. Conflict, violence, corruption, and weak governance are barriers to sustainable development.
SDG 16 Matters for NTYCO
NTYCO has consistently prioritised peacebuilding, justice, and democratic participation in Afghanistan and beyond. Recognising that strong institutions and justice systems are the foundation of human rights, NTYCO works to empower youth, amplify marginalised voices, and create innovative solutions to address injustice and authoritarianism.
Without peace, justice, and strong institutions, none of the other SDGs can be fully realised. Afghanistan’s decades of war, weak governance, and human rights abuses prove the urgency of this goal. Through its works, NTYCO demonstrates that sustainable peace is only possible when justice is served and institutions are inclusive and accountable.
