The Volunteering Workshop, dedicated to civil society activists and human rights defenders, was successfully held with broad participation, strong engagement, and enthusiastic interest from attendees. The workshop was warmly welcomed and received significant attention from participants.

This online workshop was organized on December 30, 2025, by the Afghanistan New Thinker Youth Civil Organization in collaboration with the International Federation of Human Rights Defenders in Exile. The main objectives of the workshop were to raise awareness about volunteering, facilitate experience-sharing among activists, and highlight the vital role of voluntary work in civil society and human rights activities.

During the workshop, Afghan participants from various countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Europe, and the United States, took part in the discussions. Key topics included the concept of volunteering, its direct link to civil society and human rights advocacy, practical experiences of volunteer work, and the role of volunteers in contexts of crisis and restricted civic space. The active participation of attendees, along with insightful questions and exchanges of perspectives, reflected both strong interest and a clear need for such educational initiatives.

The organizers emphasized the importance of continuing similar educational programs in the future and described volunteering as a fundamental pillar for strengthening civil society, supporting human rights, and fostering social solidarity.
